Donald Trump never publicly opposed abortion until he ran for president in 2015. Even claimed ""I'm highly pro-choice" when he considered running for president in 1999.

However, Donald Trump appointed the three Supreme Court judges who overturned Roe v. Wade last year in the Dobbs decision.

After Donald Trump left office and Roe was overturned, another political effect was that the Democrats did well in the midterm elections and the projected "red wave" did not happen.

“It wasn't my fault that the Republicans didn't live up to expectations in the MidTerms,” Trump said on Truth Social.

Abortion issue poorly handled by many Republicans, especially those that firmly insisted on No Exceptions, even in the case of Rape, Incest, or Life of the Mother, lost enormous numbers of Voters.”

As he prepares another presidential campaign in 2024, this sets Trump at odds with his constituency, the Christian right.

Domenech tweeted that none of Trump's losing contenders supported "no exceptions for rape, incest, or motherhood.”

Trump claims the pro-life position drove many Republicans away. The most pro-life R incumbents won! DeWine, Abbott, Kemp, DeSantis.

“Third, Trump argues pro-life voters received what they wanted from SCOTUS then ‘disappeared never to be seen again.'
