When the Denver Broncos sacked head coach Nathaniel Hackett earlier this month, Jim Harbaugh quickly emerged as a prospective candidate to replace him.
There have been rumours that Harbaugh would accept an NFL position if offered and that the Broncos would pay him a monstrous contract.
It appears that this is the direction in which things are moving.
The NFL Network's Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero reported that Jim Harbaugh is scheduled to interview for the Broncos' head coaching vacancy this week.
Denver Broncos intend to interview Jim Harbaugh, head coach of the University of Michigan, for their head coaching position early this week.
"Harbaugh, 59, has weighed his NFL choices in recent weeks and is now scheduled to speak digitally with Denver and other possibilities in the coming days"
Harbaugh has stated several times that he believes he will be back at Michigan next season, despite actively chasing NFL positions.
So there is a potential that Michigan will offer him a new contract and a pay hike to remain.
Harbaugh is currently being investigated by the NCAA for allegedly committing recruiting infractions and then lying about them.
Consequently, there is a possibility that he will flee to the NCAA to avoid punishment.
